The intangible cultural heritage of the UAE is a treasure trove, brimming with diversity and vitality. It is the lifeblood of the society, its identity, and its living connection to the past. Yet, the artisans who hold the key to this hidden treasure struggle to transmit their knowledge and skills to the younger Emirati generation.
As a Graphic Designer, I envisioned “Masyoun”—a digital platform, an opportunity that bridges tradition with modernity. “Masyoun” invites Emirati youth on a journey to learn the Emirati traditional crafts: Al Sadu, Al Talli, Al Khos, and Sea Crafts. Through this innovative app, users will discover the essence of each craft, guided by step-by-step tutorials, comprehensive information, and an Emirati glossary. Along with the app, each user will have a beginner craft kit that provides aspiring artisans the tools to dive into their creative journey.  Our goal is to ensure that the invaluable knowledge and skills inherent in these crafts are not only preserved but also promoted among the Emirati youth. With “Masyoun”, our legacy becomes a living, breathing part of our cultural tapestry—accessible anytime, anywhere.
